A Domain Name Service (DNS) server, translates computer names (which are
read by humans) into IP addresses (required by computers) and vice versa.
Each Internet Service Provider (ISP) is required to provide at least 2
DNS servers.
Gifford Internet provides the following DNS servers:-
- ns.gifford.co.uk (IP address 195.166.65.8)
- ns1.gifford.co.uk (IP address 195.166.65.9)
Most Win 95/98, Win 3.x, and WinNT users will not need to configure
this information manually, since their computers will be provided with
the details automatically when they connect.
